Maha Ahmed Eldardiry Afifi

Maha was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt and is 64 years young  - for her age is just a number in her driving license.

She is married to Yousry Ghamry and has 3 children -  2 boys " Omar & Kareem " and a daughter "Mona". Only Kareem is playing Croquet and has participated many times in golf croquet world championships. Maha used to work for Egyptian radio as an announcer, but is now a full-time mom.

Maha started playing GC at the Zohour club in Cairo in 1995, at first for fun, but as we all know it gets control over you.  She still does enjoy playing and together with her team mates she has won over 30 official titles in the Egyptian Federation competitions.

She participated in the Women's World Championship in Egypt 2014 and in New Zealand 2019 where she ranked 17th and won the Bowl. She also played in the over 50 World Championships in 2018. She is proudly joining the Egyptian team for the 2023 competition.

Mervat Sayed Shazly Ahmed

Mervat is married, a mother of 3 daughters, and has three grandchildren.

Achievements as croquet player:
• Member of Zamalek club's team from 1980 to 1999
• Champion of the Egyptian ladies singles championship 1980
• Champion of the Egyptian ladies doubles championship 1981
• Member of shooting club's team from 2000 till now
• Champion of the Egyptian mixed doubles championships 2005
• 5th place in world ladies championship 2005
• 18th place in world ladies championship 2014
• 15th place in world ladies championship 2019
• Participating in winning the Egyptian' league and Egyptian' cup titles many times

Perihan Elwy

Perihan was born in Cairo, Egypt. She has an Engineering background and started playing croquet at Zohor Club in Cairo 2009.

Since then she has won a lot of National tournaments with the Zohor team, and in the past season the Egyptian league, National Cup and National individual Cup. She has also won the National mixed title and gold medal in 2014 besides winning many medals within private tournaments.

She participated on the last Women's World Championship in New Zealand.

Sarah Hany Farouk

 Sarah is 27 years old, and working in the pharmacy field.

She has played croquet for 8 years, learning from her mother & grandmother. She plays on a daily basis - friendly matches with colleagues as well as club tournaments, currently holding third ranking place in Egypt.

She is working hard to achieve her main goal  - to win the world championship this year.

Amany Hassan

Amany lives in Cairo, Egypt and has been playing golf croquet since 1994. She's achieved several tournament wins:
• 5 mixed tournaments
• 3 doubles ladies tournaments
• 3 times ranking tournaments.

Tafida al Khodary

Tafida, born and living in Cairo, Egypt, is a consultant for obstetrics and gynaecology and received her degree 20 years ago. She's 61 years old, a mother of 2 sons, an engineer and a dentist. Her husband is also a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology.. 

She's been playing GC for 13 years and is a member of the Al Zohor club.  She is 19th in the Egyptian rankings and 5 years ago was ranked 3rd in the Singles Al Shams club tournament for ladies; the following year was 2nd in the Singles Nahed Hassan tournament for ladies. Her team of Al Zahor has been a winner in all the Egyptian national tournaments.

Manal Abdelhamid Khodeir

Manal is 54 and was born in Giza, Egypt. She is married and has one son & one daughter. She works as an IT software programming creator at Starco company.

She started playing Golf Croquet in 2002 in Egypt at the E.S.I.I.C club in her home town and after one year played her first match in the Egyptian women rankings.  10 years ago in 2012 she moved to Alzamalek Club and played with them for 4 years and with them achieved the Egyptian Cup and the League 3 times.

In 2016 Manal transferred to the Shams club and stayed there for two years and in 2018 returned to the Alzamalek Club 

Manal's first International participation was in Egypt in the Women's World Croquet Championship when she came 11th. Her second participation was in New Zealand  where she was the runner-up.

Soha Moustafa

Soha is 33 years old and has been playing croquet for 20 years, since the age of 13 years old.  She's currently working as an Assistant HR Manager and Trainer.

She has played in many tournaments over the years and has won many Championships between 2011 and today. She is the current Women's World Champion (last played in 2019) and has been the number one ranked ladies player in Egypt for the past 5 years.

Soha is very interested and excited about the tournament in England this August.

Abeer Mostafa

Abeer works as an engineer.

Abeer has been playing Golf Croquet since 1993 and is currently a member of Shooting Club croquet team as well as the Egyptian National Team.  She currently occupies 4th place in the Ladies Egyptian Ranking system.

Abeer has participated in all the Women's World Championships since 2005 and came 3rd in 2005 and 2014 and 5th in 2009. Abeer’s most recent participation in the Women's World championships was in February 2019 in New Zealand, where she came 8th. Abeer has recently won the Women's Friendship Championship held in Virgina, USA in October 2022.

Abeer is the winner of the Yorkshire Tournament for Women in 2005 and has won the Egyptian Ladies ranking tournament 4 times.

At national level, Abeer has been a member of the Shooting Club team for many years - they have won the Egyptian National league and Egyptian Cup for many years.

Maram Nabil

Maram is an interior designer.

She fell in love with croquet when she was 8-9 years old. She has played for many clubs, but now is an Alexandria sporting club team player which recently won the Egyptian Federation cup 2022/2023.

She played in the Golf Croquet world championship in Melbourne, Australia 2017 and the women’s Golf Croquet world championship in New Zealand 2019. She has won two women’s national ranking tournaments and was second in the last one. She is looking forward to meeting all the players from around the world.

Ghada Karam Abdel Rahman

Ghada has been playing croquet since she was 18 years old, inheriting this lovely sport from both her parents who were champions in their team for years and years. She is now 58 years old still fighting to win as many matches as she can as she is really addicted to this lovely sport.

As an Associate Director for student life at the American University in Cairo life was very busy for her, but since she is enjoying her early retirement, she has become very much more interested in playing in the world championships.

This is her first opportunity to actually travel and be part of Women World Championship. She is very excited to be able to play with a lot of other players from different countries, giving her the chance to learn more and more about her favourite sport.

Pauline Salib Erian Salib

Pouline is from Cairo, Egypt and is 31 years old, working as a Pharmacist.

She has played Croquet since she was 12 years old and loves the game so much. She plays for the Gezira Sporting club team and previously also with many other clubs, winning many tournaments.

In 2011 she played in the World GC championship under 21’s, where she came second and after that playing in the World Open GC Championship in Hurlingham.  She also participated in the Women's World GC Championship in New Zealand in 2019.

Pouline has won the National Single Ladies Championship in Egypt. Together with her club teams has won the Egyptian league finals 4 times. She has won the National Ladies ranking tournament for 3 years and 2023 sees her ranked second place of the ladies (national) and 6th in the Women's World rankings. 

She is very happy to play in the world women's GC championship in Brighton 2023 and looking forward to the opportunity to meet players from all around the world.

Noha Shahin

Noha Mamdouh is 27 years old and was born in Alexandria, Egypt. She works as a dentist.

She has been playing croquet since 2016 and is currently playing at the Al Zohour club. Her current Egyptian ranking is 5th and her current International ranking is 73rd.

Croquet titles:
• Egyptian league two titles.
• Egyptian cup two titles.
• Egyptian Federation cup one title.

This is her first time participating in the Women’s Golf Croquet World Championship.
